400 YEARS OF THE TELESCOPE

Scott Stender spent 6 weeks in Europe and South America Fall 2007 as DP on this HD documentary destined for PBS and IMAX. He returns Summer 2008 to film additional footage on the ultra-high definition RED cameras.

The show hasn’t been released yet, but we can show a trailer cut from the footage. Shooting this show had many high points for Scott, including shooting in Galileo’s Tuscan villa near Florence and actually looking eyeball-to-lens through his original telescope, as well as filming an interview above 16,000 feet on the Licancabur Volcano in the Chilean Atacama desert on his birthday. And that was all in the first phase, last year!
